Owner/Chef/Sommelier
Takayuki Shige
Born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1971
Started training at a local restaurant. While working at Japanese and Western restaurants, he acquired a sommelier qualification and also gained experience serving customers at restaurants and bars.
Among them, as a teppanyaki chef who enjoys working as a chef and talking to people, and can feel the reactions of customers firsthand, he has been active as a griller and sommelier at the long-established teppanyaki restaurant for over 10 years.
After that, in 2018, he opened his own restaurant, Teppanyaki Olive, in Nishi-Shinsaibashi, Chuo-ku, Osaka. The restaurant's name comes from the premium Kuroge Wagyu beef "Olive-fed Wagyu Beef" from Kagawa Prefecture that we sell.
In addition to steak, we also use seasonal seafood to create a fusion of Japanese and Western style teppanyaki cuisine for you to enjoy.

Born in 1976, from Nara Prefecture
Studying wine and obtaining qualifications to run a restaurant with the owner.
Even now, we are constantly researching wines that go well with teppanyaki dishes.
We strive to ensure that even customers visiting our Teppanyaki restaurant for the first time can enjoy their time there.
I can communicate in English a little, so I would be happy if foreign customers could enjoy cooking as well.

The customer's table and the kitchen side are completely flat. By showing everything at hand, I can honestly express my cooking to both the ingredients and the customers.
Since the food is cooked on a hot iron plate, we make sure that you can enjoy everything from the aroma of the ingredients to the finishing touch with all five senses.
I think you will be able to enjoy the live feeling of seeing each dish being completed right in front of your eyes.
We have counter seats with ample distance between customers, so it is recommended for special anniversaries, birthday celebrations, and business meals.
Additionally, the number of customers who can visit each day is limited, so you can fully enjoy interacting with the chef and proprietress.

Using seasonal seafood and seasonal ingredients, we offer dishes that let you feel the four seasons.
The main meat we use is Kagawa Prefecture's premium brand Kuroge Wagyu Olive Beef, which is soft and full of flavor due to the effects of olives from Shodoshima.

Premium Kuroge Wagyu beef from Kagawa prefecture, confidently offered by the owner who has honed his skills in teppanyaki for many years.
"Olive-fed Wagyu Beef"
Olives from Shodoshima in Kagawa Prefecture are the birthplace of olive cultivation in Japan and boast a history of over 100 years.
Approximately 75% of the oil in the olive fruit is pressed into olive oil, and the remaining 25% remains in the pressed fruit. Cows are raised with care by being fed ``olive feed,'' which is made by effectively using the squeezed fruit as feed for the cows.
The compost from the cows that eat the feed is used to prepare the soil for olive cultivation, etc., making it a recycling-oriented agriculture that is kind to the environment, cows, olives, and people.
"Olive-fed Wagyu Beef" has richness and flavor due to the oleic acid and antioxidant components that are abundant in olives, and the meat is moist and soft, but the fat is refreshing, making it a healthy meal.

We mainly offer fruity and easy-drinking types of sake recommended by the owner-chef and proprietress.
In addition, we have a wide selection of shochu, Japanese whiskey, and more.
You can enjoy your favorite alcoholic beverage, or since you've come to Teppanyaki Olive, you can try out alcoholic beverages that you wouldn't normally encounter. Please feel free to ask around.

For anniversary/birthday customers
At our restaurant, we accept message plates for surprises etc. for a fee.

Q.Can I use a credit card?
A. Yes, you can.
You can use VISA, Master, Amex, Diners, and JCB.
Q.Can I use QR code payment?
A. We are very sorry, but this is not possible.
We ask that you pay by cash or credit card.
Q.Are children OK?
A.Our restaurant allows smoking, so in accordance with Osaka Prefecture regulations, we do not allow anyone under the age of 20 to enter the restaurant.
Q.Can I change the course to one that doesn't include beef?
A.We are very sorry, but since we are a steak house specializing in "Olive-fed Wagyu Beef", we are unable to prepare courses with ingredients other than beef.
Q.Is there a dress code?
A.There is nothing in particular. It's okay to wear casual clothes that aren't too elaborate.
However, baseball uniforms and flip-flops may not be accepted.
Q.Do you have Non-alcohole drinks?
A.Yes, there is. We offer grape juice, olive cider, Perrier, etc.
Q. Are you open for lunch?
A.We are very sorry, but we are not open during lunch time.
Q.Do you have table seats?
A.There are only 8 seats at the counter.
Q. I'm celebrating attendees' birthday, can I do something for them?
A.We will prepare a message plate for an additional fee. (from ¥1650)

Q.How often does the course menu change?
A.Seafood and vegetables will change depending on the season.
Q.How long does it take to eat?
A. It depends on the course you choose and the balance of the guests who are coming on the day, but we want you to enjoy your meal slowly, so we would like you to spend about 2.5 to 3 hours.
Of course, it may end earlier than the above time.
Q. Will raw seafood be served with the course?
A.At our restaurant, everything is cooked on the iron plate in front of you.
